A new version of LocalSign is now available and can be downloaded here.
With this release we redesigned LocalSign from the ground up to provide:
- Simpler deployment - Previously LocalSign had to be run as an administrator or a series of complex steps had to be followed in order to allow non-administrator users to use the application. The new version only requires administrator privileges during install or for certain configuration tasks completed.
- Simpler configuration - In the past, LocalSign only worked with Internet Explorer and required substantial browser configuration in order facilitate communication between the signing session in the browser and the LocalSign application and signing device. The new version was designed to allow use in a broader range of modern browsers including:
- Firefox 3+
- Safari 3+
- Simpler use - In the past it was necessary for users to remember to start the LocalSign application before signing if it was not already running. The new version, however, is configured out of the box to start and run automatically in the background. So it will be ready to go whenever a document needs to be signed using the connected signature device.
